Private firm to help SA Health blowout

Cost blowouts at the Royal Adelaide Hospital have been blamed for an SA Health budget deficit nearing $250 million, with investment firm KordaMentha called in for advice.

The Central Adelaide Local Health Network's chief executive Jenny Richter has acknowledged the figure and that the department has called in the private firm for help to get things under control.

"We acknowledge that a budget deficit close to $250 million is unacceptable and our network faces a significant challenge to become financially viable," Ms Richter told The Advertiser on Tuesday, with KordaMentha the same team that helped turn around the Whyalla steelworks.
