Presley died in January 2023 just days before her 55th birthday
Lisa Marie Presley's mother and her granddaughters are celebrating Lisa Marie on what would have been her 56th birthday.
On Thursday, Riley Keough and Finley Lockwood both shared posts on Instagram honoring their mother's special day. Lisa Marie was also mom to 15-year-old Finley's twin sister, Harper, and son Benjamin Keough, who died by suicide in July 2020.
The singer died in January 2023 at the age of 54. Feb. 1 marks her second birthday since her death.
Keough, 34, shared a throwback photo of her mom wearing a jean jacket and sporting a short haircut as she posed in front of a city's skyline to mark the special day. "Happy Birthday mama ," she captioned the pic.
Several of the Daisy Jones & the Six star's famous friends wished Lisa Marie a happy birthday in the comments, while also expressing support for Keough. "Happy birthday she’s in heaven in a good place of Heaven beautiful," Tatum O'Neal wrote. Meanwhile, Oscar-nominee Lily Gladstone and Emily in Paris star Lily Collins both left simple white heart emojis.
Keough also reshared her sister Finley's Instagram Story which featured another throwback snap of their mom. In Finley's photo, Lisa Marie had her hair pulled back in a '90s-style updo as she sported a silver choker.
"Happy birthday mama," the teen captioned her photo. "I'm so lucky your [sic] my mom. I wouldn't be who I am today without you. I miss you and love you so much ❤️🕊️."
Additionally, Lisa Marie's mother, Priscilla Presley, also marked her daughter's birthday with a post. She shared a black and white photo of herself and Lisa Marie from her teen years, writing, "I miss you 'Yisa'. You would have been 56 today. Still young at heart and yet an old soul. Mom ♥️."
Lisa Marie died at age 54 on Jan. 12, 2023, and was the only daughter of Elvis Presley and Priscilla. This year the singer-songwriter's fascinating life will be shared with the public via a new exhibit at Graceland and in a memoir, which Keough is helping complete.
The memoir — which Lisa Marie was working on before her death — is set to feature stories about her famous father, her "complicated" relationship with mom Priscilla and her marriages to Nicolas Cage and Michael Jackson.
“Few people had the opportunity to know who my mom really was, other than being Elvis’s daughter,” Keough said in a statement. “I was lucky to have had that opportunity and working on preparing her autobiography for publication has been a privilege, albeit a bittersweet one.”
