Princess Elizabeth Hospital over capacity
The main hospital in Guernsey is currently over capacity.
The Princess Elizabeth Hospital has had to postpone 14 surgeries, and the office for health and social care (HSC) said there may be further disruption in the coming days.
They said there was "no single factor" and it was a "seasonal issue with demand outstripping available capacity".
The government said surgeries would be rearranged as soon as possible, and it may have an impact with patients who currently had a date for surgery.
HSC said all cancer or emergency surgeries would continue to be prioritised.
A spokesman said: "[It is] always disappointing when elective surgery must be postponed and we apologise for the impact this has on individuals and their families."
The government said if people had symptoms of a respiratory infection, they should not visit patients at the Princess Elizabeth Hospital or outpatient appointments.
