Prince Harry slammed for 'lecture from million-pound mansion'
Prince Harry has been slammed for giving a “ lecture from a million-pound mansion”.
The 36-year-old royal engaged in a conversation with Black Lives Matter activist Patrick Hutchinson on behalf of GQ magazine.
During the interview, Prince Harry claimed that he had no idea what unconscious bias was until he met his wife, Meghan Markle.
"Unconscious bias, from my understanding, having the upbringing and the education that I had, I had no idea what it was. I had no idea it existed," he said.
"And then, sad as it is to say, it took me many, many years to realize it, especially then living a day or a week in my wife's shoes."
He went on to say that he believes everyone should educate themselves and examine their unconscious bias when it comes to race.

"And I think one of the most dangerous things is people within positions of power, whether it's politics or whether it's the media, where if you're not aware of your own bias and you're not aware of the culture within your system, then how are we ever going to progress?" he said.
However, on the UK’s Jeremy Vine show, journalist Dawn Neesom has slammed the prince for his speech.
"Now, if Harry wants to make a difference to the black community in this country, he needs to get back over here, work on the ground and set an example to young, black lads who are genuinely suffering not lecture from a million-pound mansion,” she said.
Journalist and TV presenter Kate Quilton, defended the prince, saying: "Let's not just bash Harry and Meghan. They are doing some good!"
During Prince Harry’s interview, he also talked about what it’s been like living in the US during the BLM movement.
"It's going to take every single one of us to really change things and anyone that's pushing against it really needs to take a long, hard look at themselves in the mirror," he said.
"This is a global movement. The train has left the station. If you're not on it now, then get on it because there's so much that we can do. And being a dad myself, the whole point in life, I guess, for me, is to try to leave the world in a better place than when you found it."
