Prince Harry flies solo as pregnant Meghan misses engagements to rest up

The pregnant Duchess of Sussex will not take part in official engagements during the Royal couple’s visit to Queensland’s Fraser Island, Kensington Palace has announced.

Prince Harry and Meghan are scheduled to arrive in Hervey Bay on Monday before heading to Fraser Island, the largest sand island in the world.

Kensington Palace announced that while Meghan will join Prince Harry in travelling to Fraser Island on Monday, she will not take part in any official events.

Earlier yesterday, it was revealed that Meghan would be reducing her engagements for a few days as the end of the first week of her first royal tour approached.

“After a busy programme, The Duke and Duchess have decided to cut back The Duchess’s schedule slightly for the next couple of days, ahead of the final week and a half of the tour,” a Palace insider said.

Meghan is “feeling fine but resting’, according to Hello!‘s Emily Nash. The goal is “just trying to pace things for her”.

On Monday, just one day before their tour began, Meghan and Harry confirmed they were expecting their first child together.
