Prince George Preparing for a Major Switch-Up as Kate Middleton Spotted Touring Schools
Prince George is growing up fast—and he's getting ready to mark a major educational milestone.
While the eldest child of Prince William and Kate Middleton currently attends the Berkshire-based Lambrook School, the independent prep school only goes through Year 8 (the British equivalent of 7th grade). That means George, who turns 12 this summer, will need to move on to a different school next September—and it seems his mother is in the process of choosing the right place for him.
According to the Daily Mail, the Princess of Wales was seen touring two prestigious London schools in recent weeks.
Just after it closed for Christmas break, Kate paid a visit to the £10,000-per-term University College School (UCS) in Hampstead. She also toured Highgate School, located just two miles away (which was temporarily closed to accommodate a "special VIP visitor" believed to be the royal mother-of-three).

However, Kate's alma mater, Marlborough College in Wiltshire, is "understood" to be her first choice for George when he leaves Lambrook School, the outlet reported. The £59,000-a-year a co-educational boarding school would also be able to take Princess Charlotte, 9, and Prince Louis, 6, in addition to George—and Kate is thought to want to keep them together. Charlotte and Louis are both students at Lambrook School with their older brother now.
Apparently, Prince George has even been offered a place at the school and a house has already been chosen for him. Marlborough College is also said to be the safest option for the young royal.
As reported by Hello!, the prospectus describes Marlborough College as "academically ambitious, offering a progressive, challenging and enriching curriculum broadly based on the National Curriculum" that is "designed to support pupils to excel in their exams and to instill a life long love of learning."
