Sometimes a deal that seems too good to be true is, in fact, true. This is one of those times. During the month of October, Amazon is giving away $219 worth of free video games (valued on Steam) to Prime members.
Not a member? Believe it or not, you can still get this sweet, sweet swag. Sign up for the free 30-day Prime trial here, and you can take advantage of this free offer. Once the trial is over, you can either subscribe to Amazon Prime for $13 a month (or $119 a year) or just cancel altogether. No hard feelings.
Along with on-the-house games that change every month, Prime Gaming (formerly Twitch Prime) offers free level-up options for characters, boosts, skins and more. And even if you cancel the service, you can keep the games in your digital library. It's an amazing deal.

Star Wars: Squadrons

Alien: Isolation
There have been more than a dozen games adapting the Alien franchise, the bulk of which emerged in the wake of the smash-hit sequel Aliens in 1986. But as longtime gamers will tell you, most of them have been notoriously bad. In their defense, what about a film that involves colonial marines in space blasting their way through swarms of violent alien minions before squaring off with a massive final boss lends itself to a video game, right?
But things changed in 2014, when Creative Assembly and Sega decided to step away from the run-and-gun gameplay of earlier, Aliens-influenced games, and return to the vibe of the original Ridley Scott Alien, which netted the game massive acclaim and the honor of PC Gamer's Game of the Year 2014. Alien: Isolation, as the title suggests, is a survival horror game, in line with the original film's "slasher movie in space" concept. Play as Ellen Ripley 15 years after the events on the Nostromo using stealth, strategy, and the occasional flamethrower to save yourself from the menacing xenomorph.

Blue Fire
Explore the decaying kingdom of Penumbra in this engrossing 3D platformer from Graffiti Games. To know Aardman Animations' most-famous duo is to love them. Each of their four theatrical shorts has been nominated for an Academy Award (two of them winning), and their first feature film, Wallace & Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit, became the only stop-motion animated film to date to win the Oscar for Best Animated Feature. Now, you can guide the celebrated pair on new adventures in an episodic series from Telltale games. Originally released in 2009, the game had been unavailable since 2014 due to licensing issues, but finally it has returned to digital retailers and Amazon is making it available to all their Prime Gaming members just for being a subscribers. Absolutely smashing, wouldn't you say, old chum?

Whiskey & Zombies: The Great Southern Zombie Escape
It's a southern-friend shoot 'em up from the team at Nuttery Entertainment. With a top-down gameplay style that calls to mind the Sega Genesis cult-classic Zombies Ate My Neighbors, Whiskey & Zombies: The Great Southern Zombie Escape offers a twist on the classic undead formula George A. Romero concocted back in 1968. Back then, it seemed nothing could prevent the apocalypse, but now we know one thing can stave off the zombifying virus: moonshine. Like the Duke boys evading Boss Hogg, the McCrearys of Whiskey & Zombies must avoid the flesh-eating ghouls that seek to turn them and get home to their life-saving elixir and save the world.
