A pregnant school teacher has been arrested accused of sexual relations with a 15-year-old student.

Heiry Calvi, 41, a teacher at John I Smith K-8 Center, in Miami-Dade County, Florida was arrested on Thursday over allegations which first began surfacing in March, Miami Herald reports.

It is alleged Calvi had been having sex with a student from JC Bermudez Sr High School which is on the same campus as the school she teaches at. The student had also been taught by her at John I Smith in the past.

The student in question showed video to others of himself having sex with Calvi, police said. There was also a WhatsApp message where the pair had been texting “I love you” along with nude photographs.

Doral police spokesman Rey Valdes told NBC 6 South Florida the boy denied being a rape victim.

“I want to point out under Florida law, a minor cannot give consent,” he said.

Doral police said Calvi is also eight months’ pregnant but would not speculate on who the child’s dad is.

Calvi has been charged with lewd and lascivious battery; electronic transmission harmful to minors; unlawful use of a communications device; child neglect; offences against students by authority figures; contributing to delinquency and possession of a firearm on school property.

Miami-Dade County Public Schools said in a statement it is “disturbed” by the allegations.

“The District will begin employment termination proceedings and will ensure the individual is prevented from seeking future employment with this school system,” it said.
