A pregnant Melbourne mum who was found dead at a home on Saturday night has been remembered by family members as a “beautiful soul”.
Michelle Darragh, 32, died at the Bayswater North house after emergency services were called to the property around 7.30pm.
Victoria Police said a man and a woman were found inside with life-threatening injuries but the woman died at the scene.
The man, widely reported to be Ms Darragh’s former partner Ben Corman, 29, was rushed to hospital in critical condition.
He remained there on Sunday under police guard, The Age reports.
Victoria police confirmed to Yahoo News Australia the man and woman involved were known to each other.
Homicide detectives are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident, police said.
Ms Darragh’s heartbroken family told The Age the 32-year-old social worker shared two sons with Mr Corman and was expecting her third child.
They said the couple had separated just weeks ago and a neighbour told 9 News he saw Ms Darragh return to the home on Saturday to collect some items.
Her grieving brother told the publication his sister was “a beautiful soul who put everyones needs before herself".
“Our family has lost a beautiful daughter and sister…we are beside ourselves with emotion,” he said.
“She absolutely adored her boys and gave her life to them.”
