Pregnant Kourtney Kardashian thanks doctors for ‘saving baby’s life’ after foetal surgery
Kourtney Kardashian has praised doctors for “saving her baby’s life” after she underwent life-saving foetal surgery during her final trimester of pregnancy.
On Wednesday, the reality star detailed the nerve-wracking experience on Instagram, days after her husband Travis Barker postponed a handful of his Blink-182 European tour dates to be by her side.
Sharing a black and white snap of her holding Barker’s hand, on a hospital bed, she wrote: “I will be forever grateful to my incredible doctors for saving our baby’s life.
“I am eternally grateful to my husband who rushed to my side from tour to be with me in the hospital and take care of me afterwards, my rock.
“And to my mom, thank you for holding my hand through this.’
The reality TV star also spoke of experiencing a “feeling of fear” as she rushed into theatre to save their unborn child.
The mother-of-three continued: “As someone who has had three really easy pregnancies in the past, I wasn’t prepared for the fear of rushing into urgent fetal surgery.
“I don’t think anyone who hasn’t been through a similar situation can begin to understand that feeling of fear.
“I have a whole new understanding and respect for the mamas who have had to fight for their babies while pregnant,” she continued.
“Praise be to God. Walking out of the hospital with my baby boy in my tummy and safe was the truest blessing.”
On Friday, Barker’s band Blink-182 announced the postponement of several European tour dates because of an “urgent family matter” that forced him to dash home.
God is great. I flew home for a life-threatening emergency surgery for our baby that I’m so grateful went well. I want to say thank you for all the support. Tour resumes Friday.

Following his wife’s post, Barker also took to Twitter on Wednesday to update his fans, writing: “God is great. I flew home for a life-threatening emergency surgery for our baby that I’m so grateful went well.
“I want to say thank you for all the support. Tour resumes Friday.”
The couple’s update comes after they were seen being ushered into a black SUV leaving a Los Angeles hospital on Saturday.
Kardashian, who shares three children with ex Scott Disick, publicly announced her pregnancy at a Blink-182 concert in epic fashion earlier this year.
In June, the reality star, who married Barker last May, posted an Instagram video showing her holding up a sign at his band’s LA gig saying: “Travis I’m pregnant.”
In the clip, bassist Mark Hoppus is also heard saying: “Let’s hear it for Travis, someone’s having a baby”, before Barker is then seen getting off the stage, and kissing Kardashian.
The moment is in reference to Blink-182’s music video All The Small Things, in which the musicians mocked various boy bands and played in front of a crowd with someone carrying a sign saying: “Travis I’m pregnant.”
Barker has been married twice previously, first briefly to Melissa Kennedy and then to actress and former Miss USA titleholder Shanna Moakler, with whom he shares two children.
