Powerball's $60 million jackpot to be drawn Thursday night

An enticing $60 million Powerball jackpot is up for grabs on Thursday night following a five-week period of the top prize going unclaimed.

The hotly anticipated draw could take the number of division one prize winners to nine for this year, with eight Australian Powerball winners having pocketed more than $316.7 million.

Three winners were from NSW, three were from Victoria and two were from South Australia.

The Lott spokesperson Ally Ramsamy said the type of winning entries had been evenly split between personalised number selection and automated numbers.

“Of the eight Powerball division one winners so far this year, there was an even split between those who won by marking their entry with their special numbers and those who won with a QuickPick entry, where the lottery terminal randomly chose the numbers,” she said in a statement.

“More than a third of this year’s division one winning entries were 25-game entries. A quarter of the winning entries were Powerhit entries, a premium ticket that guarantees the all-important Powerball number that you need to win division one.”

The Powerball draw will close at 7.30pm AEST on Thursday, with tickets to be purchased at licensed lottery outlets, online from thelott.com or via the Lott mobile app.
