Powerball Draw 1296: Aussie claims ENTIRE $50 million jackpot

One lucky Australian has tonight become the nation's newest multi-millionaire, winning an eye-watering $50 million in Powerball's latest draw.

The numbers for draw number 1296 were 6, 16, 18, 29, 30, 33, 35 and the Powerball number was 4.

According to The Lott, the ticket was purchased in Sydney and was unregistered - meaning there is no way for officials to contact the winner to inform them of the news.

“Someone is having a winning end to the working week, but first they need to check their ticket and discover they’re now $50 million richer,” The Lott spokesperson Matt Hart said.

“There are 50 million reasons why all Powerball players who purchased an entry into this week’s Powerball draw from a Sydney NSW Lotteries outlet should check their ticket immediately."

The new Sydney multi-millionaire was the fourth Powerball division one winner of 2021.

Twenty-six punters took a share in the division two prize, splitting $796,555.50 between them to walk away with just over $30,000 each.

Last $50m winner from Queensland

No one has held a division one winning ticket since February, with the prize jackpotting last week for the third week in a row.

February's staggering Powerball win - also $50 million - was won by a man from Mackay.

“I heard someone in Mackay had won, but of course I never thought it could be me," the mystery multi-millionaire told The Lott after his win.

"My brain is going at a million miles an hour," he said.
