Postman caught throwing parcel 'like a frisbee' at front door

A frustrated Sydney resident has captured the moment a postman “frisbee tossed” his parcel at his front door before walking away.

Russell James Noble shared the footage of the delivery man, who he believes works for Australia Post, to Twitter.

The postie is seen running towards the front door, throwing the parcel down from several metres away and then backing away.

“Another day, another package frisbee tossed at my door thanks to @auspost,” Mr Noble quipped.

Australia Post responded to Mr Noble’s video on Twitter.

“I use to play a bit of frisbee @russelljnoble & his technique is all wrong, both professionally & in the eye of the sport,” Australia Post commented.

“In all seriousness, this is not on. Please DM us with your tracking number, email, & delivery address so we can investigate with the driver in question.”

Yahoo News Australia has reached out to Australia Post for comment.

Unfortunately for Mr Noble, this isn’t the first time a postman has been busted mishandling his parcel. In May he caught a postie doing the exact same thing.

“Righto, regardless of whether the package is soft and/or not fragile, should the postie really be throwing my packages around like a frisbee, @auspost? Incredible,” he tweeted in May.

Following the earlier incident, Mr Noble told Yahoo he checks the video camera installed at his front door every time a parcel is being delivered.

“They don’t place it [down]. They just toss it from some height,” Mr Noble said.

During coronavirus pandemic, Australia Post has struggled to keep up with the surge in demand due to the lockdowns, and the reduction of air freight capacity and passenger flights have resulted in delays.
