Postie's calamitous run-in with trailer caught on camera

An Australia Post employee appears to have been caught up in a comedy of errors after footage of her delivering a parcel emerged online.

CCTV from a home in a residential cul-de-sac in the western NSW town of Dubbo on Thursday shows the woman pull up in her van before dropping off a parcel.

As she gets back in her vehicle, she nudges a parked trailer as she tries to turn, sending it rolling slowly down the street.

She jumps out of her van to retrieve it but, as she does so, her van begins to roll backwards. Noticing her mistake, she rushes back to try and bring the van to a halt.

Yet her misfortune continues, with the van this time rolling forward and crashing into the kerb, much to the dismay of the employee who frantically forces the trailer and herself out of the way.

Finally able to bring the trailer to a halt in front of a neighbour’s driveway, the woman hops back into her vehicle and drives off.

The footage was uploaded to Facebook by resident Geoff Crowe who went in search of answers from the postal company.

“Australian post please explain,” he captioned the video, while offering a running commentary of the incident.

His post was quickly inundated with a series of comments from bemused users.

Some were critical of the woman yet others were a little more sympathetic towards the driver, suggesting the trailer shouldn’t have been left in its location on the road.

Australia Post told Yahoo7 News they are investigating the incident.
