Postie's attempt to find 'discreet' spot to leave package divides opinion

A delivery driver’s attempt to conceal a parcel they had left at a person’s home is dividing opinion online.

An image of their efforts was captured and and shared on Reddit by user u/llBoonell with the caption, “‘A discreet location’… solid s**t, Startrack. Real nice.”

It appears the mat at the front door was moved, possibly in an attempt to make it less visible from the street, and the package was placed underneath it.

The reddit user commented that the parcel on the doorstop was “very obvious from the road.”

But added they weren’t given a chance to provide delivery instructions with the purchase.

Numerous people thought the driver did a “top” job.

“This is great bro could have been thrown at your front door not even hidden – A+ work StarTrack stepping up your game,” one person said.

“I am happy they rotated the mat 90 degrees so you wouldn’t accidentally step on the package going through your front door … top driver thumbs up,” added another.

A couple of other people said at least they left it and the resident did not have to make a trip to collect it from a post office.

To which the user replied: “This is very true!”

A number of others questioned what is expected of drivers if there are limited hiding spots, with one saying, “(What) do you want them to do? Bring their own fake pot plants?”

“Should have pulled out a few merbau slats from your deck and put it under there. Slack,” another wrote.

Australia Post said if it was one of their drivers who delivered the package, they followed protocol for a safe dropped parcel or one which did not need a signature.
