Popular pasta sauce recalled over contamination fears

Leggo’s has been forced to recall one of its sauces over fears it could make people sick.

Food Standards Australia New Zealand issued a recall of Leggo’s Tuna Bake with Spinach & Garlic 500g on Monday.

It’s got a best before date of May 1, 2022, and with a specific batch code of 12164.

The sauce is being recalled “due to an incorrect pH level detected in the sauce which has the potential for microbial growth”, Food Standards said.

It’s been sold at Coles, Woolworths, IGA and independent supermarkets in Victoria, New South Wales, Western Australia, Northern Territory, South Australia, Tasmania and online.

Anyone who purchased the recalled sauce is encouraged not to consume it and to please return the jars for a refund.
