Popular Kmart Christmas buy recalled

Kmart has been forced to recall one of its popular Christmas items after it was discovered to pose a potential risk to Australian flora.

The retailer issued a recall of the Half Wicker Wreath with Berries on Tuesday, announcing the product had been subject to an inadequate treatment when it arrived in Australia.

“The treatment given to this product has been determined to have been ineffective and it may contain unwanted organisms that could affect plants native to the country,” a notice to Kmart’s Facebook read.

It had been available at Kmart stores nationwide since September 26 and was officially pulled from shelves on Monday.

Customers have been requested to act urgently if they purchased the product, which has the keycode 42923794.

“We encourage customers to cease using this product immediately and return to any Kmart store for a full refund, with or without a receipt,” the notice read.

Shoppers with additional concerns have been urged to contact the retailer’s customer service team or visit the store’s website.
