Popular ice cream sold at Woolworths, Coles recalled

An ice cream sold at Woolworths, Coles and other major supermarkets across Australia is being recalled.

Halo Top Australia is recalling its plant-based caramel chocolate pretzel ice cream “due to potential chemical (solvent) contamination”.

Food Standards Australia/New Zealand says if foods containing solvents are consumed, there is the potential for illness or injury.

“Consumers should not eat this product and should return the product to the place of purchase for a full refund,” the recall notice said.

The ice cream was sold Australia wide at Coles and Woolworths supermarkets, and independent retailers including IGA in NSW, Queensland and South Australia.
