Popular dessert sold at Woolworths and Coles recalled

A popular dessert sold at Coles, Woolworths and Aldi has been recalled over an undeclared allergen.

Unilever Australian issued a recall of Weis Dairy Free Dark Chocolate & Coconut four-pack multipacks on Friday because soy is not declared as an ingredient on the bar wrappers.

It is, however, declared on the box, Unilever said.

“People with a soy allergy or intolerance should not consume this product. If you have consumed any of this product and have concerns about your health, please seek medical advice,” it said.

“Customers with a soy allergy or intolerance can return the product back to the place of purchase for a full refund.

“If you are not allergic or intolerant to soy, this recall does not affect you and there is no safety risk associated with consuming the product.”

The affected bars have best before dates between August 9 2022 and August 10 2022.

They are sold in supermarkets across Australia.

“We apologise for the inconvenience caused by this recall. Weis products are proudly made in Australia and our focus is always on the health and safety of our consumers and maintaining our high quality standards,” Unilever said.
