Popular alcohol brands recalled over contamination fears


Fears of potential chemical contamination have sparked a recall of alcohol products bottled by supplier GJ Wholesale.

Eight different spirits brands have been recalled after Food Standards Australia warned the products may cause illness if consumed.

The products are sold in retail liquor stores in Queensland, New South Wales and the ACT.

The affected brands are 700 ml bottles of Veruschka Vodka, Mississippi Bourbon, Los Cabos Tequila, Yachtsman White Rum, Mudgee Rum, Barman’s Choice Whisky, Hunters Brandy and Her Choice Gin.

All of the brands are labelled “Supplied to and bottled in Australia for G J Wholesale”.

Consumers can return the product or products to the place of purchase for a refund.
