Police surround Birmingham Airport as passengers evacuated after reports of suspicious vehicle

Police surrounded Birmingham Airport and directed passengers who were evacuated following reports of a suspicious vehicle on Wednesday afternoon (23 October).

The seventh-largest airport in the UK was evacuated as a “precautionary measure to ensure the safety of passengers and staff,” West Midlands Police said.

Following a police investigation, operations began to return to normal, the airport said in a post on X, formerly Twitter.

Customers were advised to check their latest flight information and arrive at the airport in line with their check-in opening times.
