Police search for vital clue in Cecilia Haddad death
Detectives are looking for a crucial piece of evidence in the alleged murder of Brazilian businesswoman Cecilia Haddad.
Police believe finding her car keys could help piece together her and her killer’s movements on the weekend of her death.
She was found floating in Lane Cove River in Sydney late last month and it was revealed on Tuesday weights were discovered in her cargo pants.
Police believe the her killer used the weights to try and prevent her body from ever being discovered.
Detectives have identified her former lover Mario Marcelo Santoro as a person of interest.
He has not been named a suspect and police are currently checking his alibi.
Mr Santoro flew to Brazil the same weekend Ms Haddad was found in the river.
He is cooperating with police and told the Daily Telegraph he was at their disposal.
According to the publication, Ms Haddad asked Mr Santoro to move out a fortnight before her body was uncovered.
It is believed he had spoken with family and friends back in Brazil in March about returning to South America.
