Police search for killer after woman's body found in shallow bush grave

Police have confirmed they are on the hunt for a killer after a gruesome bush discovery in Perth’s south-east.

The family of the 37-year-old woman was given the bad news on Monday, 24 hours after her body was discovered off a dirt track near Canning Dam in a shallow bush grave.

What police don’t yet know is who killed her or why.

The shocking discovery has turned part of the picturesque Jarrahdale State Forest into a major crime scene.

A member of the public stumbled across the woman’s body on Sunday morning.

Detectives are yet to reveal the victim’s name or how she died but injuries to her body have convinced police that she was murdered.

Apart from the remote location and the heavy tree cover, it appears that little effort was made to hide the woman’s body.

She was found uncovered, near a dirt track, just off Canning Dam Road, about two kilometres from one of Perth’s most important sources of drinking water.

Detectives are now trying to retrace the woman’s final days as investigators search for clues that will lead them to her killer or killers.

Anyone with information is encouraged to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or use the Crime Stoppers online reporting page.
