Man charged after sexual assault of 12-year-old girl at train station
A man has been charged with sexually assaulting a minor at a Melbourne train station.
The Footscray man, 34, handed himself into police at a suburban police station over the assault at Footscray Railway Station on February 21.
Police have said the 12-year-old girl who was on her way home from school at Footscray Station when she was sexually assaulted.
Station staff noticed what was happening and quickly intervened.
The man then walked away.
He has been charged with sexual assault of a child under the age of 16 and will face the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on Monday.
