It turns out - the man’s number plate had been completely drawn on and was fake.

“After further investigation it was determined that the driver of the vehicle had no insurance and was driving on a suspended licence,” police said.

“Pro Tip: Don’t forget to draw the registration sticker.”

It’s not known what penalty the motorist faced after the incident.

People delighted by painted number plate online

The fake plate had people on Facebook in stitches.

“I ain’t even mad. That’s dedication,” one woman wrote.

One man added “you can’t knock that effort”.

However, some surprisingly thought that the painted licence plate was well done.

‘I mean... it doesn’t look half bad, if I’m being real,” one man said.

“From art class to the jail house,” another joked.

Many others commented that the police could have spent their time catching more serious criminals.
