Cop finds unexpected 'intruder' in driver's seat of police car

A police officer’s day took a bizarre turn when she returned to her car to discover an eager — and hungry — new driver.

The officer, from Douglas County in the US state of Georgia, was serving the documents near Douglasville last week when she heard something in her car.

She took a closer look and was met by the most unlikely of intruders — a goat that was climbing through the open driver’s side door.

The animal clamoured around, munched on some paperwork and knocked over a drink before managing to bump the deputy to the ground.

The sheriff’s office explained in a Facebook post on Friday that the deputy often leaves the door open on such calls in case she has to make a quick escape from aggressive dogs.

She apparently never considered having to retreat from an agitated goat.

Officials said the deputy was not physically harmed during the encounter and she managed to retrieve the soggy paperwork before the animal scampered away.

“Even though she was knocked to the ground she was not physically harmed in the incident. At the end of the day we all got a little laugh out of it and we hope you do as well,” the post read.

The video has been shared more than 8000 times and has attracted comments from over 1000 people.

“I haven’t laugh so hard in a long time! Thanks for sharing,” one amused social media user wrote.

“This was the freaking cutest video I have ever seen. I freaking loved this,” another person said.

Many joked about the hilarious run-in being an unbelievable excuse for the disappearance of paperwork.

“And why weren’t these notices served today? Well...ya see...the goat ate my work load,” one said.
