Police officers punish teens by shaving off their eyebrows

Police have been filmed punishing two teenagers caught illegally demanding parking fees from drivers by shaving off their eyebrows.

Officers detained the boys while they were allegedly trying to extort parking charges from the road in front of Losari Beach in South Sulawesi province, Indonesia, on October 31.

Footage shows one of the cops using a razor to remove the eyebrows of the youngsters after he admitted to demanding cash from drivers for fake parking charges.

The strange punishment was carried out after a tourist who parked his car in front of the beach refused to pay and was allegedly threatened by the pair so he called a police officer for help.

The police searched for the teens and questioned them in front of the tourist.

The pair reportedly admitted to the wrongdoing and apologised.

However, instead of taking the teens to the police station, a police officer bought a razor and began to remove their eyebrows.

Iman Hud, Makassar public order chief Back in Makassar, said the punishment was supposed to “discourage” the youths from doing it again.

“The punishment serves as a light sanction so that they do not repeat their actions,” he said.

He added that beach visitors have not been charged for parking fees since 2015 in an effort to boost tourism.

“The two young men forced the owner of the vehicle to pay the parking fees. They even dared to threaten them,” he said.

The teens were warned not to try the scam again and were allowed to go home.
