Police investigating string of suspected sexual attacks on Perth men

Police are investigating a series of suspected sexual assaults on men in Perth after a 41-year-old man was charged with indecent assault.

A 19-year-old man contacted police after he woke to a stranger allegedly abusing him in a car in Doubleview on January 21, WA police confirmed to Yahoo7 News.

He had entered the car after accepting an offer for a lift home at about 1am when leaving nightclub The Avenue at Club Bayview in Claremont.

Police were able to obtain CCTV footage of the vehicle, and traced its registration to an Armadale address.

On arrival, detectives discovered at least 20 videos and images of other alleged victims, The West Australian reported.

Mirrabooka detectives have charged a 41-year-old man with two counts of indecent assault and have remanded him in custody to appear in the Perth Magistrates Court on March 29.

Police are now appealing for any men that believe they may have been the victim of a similar incident in Claremont or the wider Perth area to come forward.

A spokesperson for The Avenue at Club Bayview said they were “shocked and saddened” by the revelations and were assisting police with CCTV footage.

Anyone with any information regarding the alleged attack or similar incidents are urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or make a report online.
