In one picture, a police officer emerges from the drain with the puppy in hand. According to KSEE, the officer in the photo wrapped his legs in plastic before entering the drain. The little dog hardly resembles a canine because it is covered in a thick gray-black sludge. Another photo of an officer holding up the pup offers a closer look at the filth on the dog.

Luckily, as the final photo shows, all the muck from the sewage drain washed off. The last picture is of the rescue puppy clean and taking a well-earned nap.
