Police department accidentally orders 24,000 rolls of toilet paper
A police department has a clean-up on their hands after accidentally ordering an extra 24,000 rolls of toilet paper.
The Marshall County Sheriff’s Office in Alabama mistakenly spent A$30,000 on toilet paper and another $12,000 for 450 cases of garbage bags, WAFF-TV reports.
The department’s budget for janitorial supplies for next year is only $20,000.
While county commissioners have negotiated to bring the toilet paper bill down by half – the department is struggling with another issue now.
Where is it going to store the toilet paper?
Commission Chairman James Hutcheson said workers realised the mistake when a notice came in from the vendor.
The newly elected sheriff, Phil Sims, said he will work with commissioners to address the problem.
