Teen arrested after school locked down over reports of a gun

A 15-year-old boy has been arrested for allegedly possessing a toy gun after a school went into lockdown in Melbourne’s southeast.

Police were called to the Beaconsfield school, believed to be St Francis Xavier College, on Wednesday after the school activated its emergency management plan sparked by the firearm scare.

Officers arrested the boy at the school for possession of an imitation firearm, police confirmed to Yahoo News.

The student is being questioned.

There is no threat to the school community and the investigation is ongoing, police said.
