A man pleaded guilty to a string of offences after a car chase through Nottingham which police had to take action to bring to a halt.

A vehicle driving at speed along the A610 Nuthall Road at 03:30 BST on Sunday led Nottinghamshire Police officers in the area to turn on their blue lights and give chase.

A pursuit on to the Nottingham ring road saw a suspected stolen vehicle go through red lights and at one point collide with a police car, says the force.

A box manoeuvre was then carried out by officers from the armed policing team in Valley Road, Basford, ending the chase.

The 36-year-old was charged with offences including dangerous driving, drink-driving, assaulting an emergency worker, criminal damage, driving without a licence, and driving without insurance.

He pleaded guilty at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court on Monday.

He was remanded in custody to appear at Nottingham Crown Court on 24 June for sentencing.

Two other suspects – a 21-year-old man and a 26-year-old man – were also arrested at the scene on suspicion of stealing a motor vehicle.
