Plane makes emergency landing in remote WA

Five people have been taken to hospital with minor injuries after an emergency landing at an air strip in far north Western Australia.

The tourist plane, which was carrying a pilot and eight passengers, was forced to land at the Bungle Bungles between 4.30pm and 4.50pm on Monday afternoon, police said.

Four passengers and the pilot were treated for minor injuries at the Kununurra Hospital, while the remaining passengers were uninjured and taken back to their accommodation.

Kununurra Police have spoken with those involved in the landing, and the Australian Transport Safety Bureau has been advised.
