Pilbara man denies Perth stabbing murder

A 45-year-old Pilbara man accused of a stabbing murder in Perth's southeast has pleaded not guilty.

Shane Frederick James Josephs was charged after Rhys Karl Kelly, 25, was found with critical stab wounds at a Ferndale home on April 3 and died shortly after in hospital.

Josephs entered his plea in Stirling Gardens Magistrates Court via video link from Hakea remand prison on Wednesday and will appear in the Supreme Court of WA for the first time on October 23.

Police say Josephs, from Tom Price, was known to Mr Kelly.
