Percy Jackson and the Olympians is officially getting a second season.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Disney+ has renewed Percy Jackson for a second outing just a week after the show's first season finished.

Season two is set to adapt the second book from Rick Riordan's series, 'The Sea of Monsters'. The novel sees titular hero Percy Jackson accompanied by his fellow demigods to rescue his friend Grover from a cyclops and retrieve the magical item known as the Golden Fleece.

Speaking about the renewal, Disney Branded Television president Ayo Davis said in a statement: "Rich in magic, wonder, adventure and heart, Percy Jackson and the Olympians captivated the imaginations of viewers of all ages everywhere."

Meanwhile, Riordan added: "I can't wait to bring the next season of Percy Jackson to Disney+. Raise anchors. Hoist the mainsail. All hands on deck, demigods. We're heading for the Sea of Monsters!"

Starring Walker Scobell, Leah Sava Jeffries and Aryan Simhadri, season one of Percy Jackson and the Olympians premiered in December 2023 to strong reviews. It received a near-perfect score on Rotten Tomatoes from critics when it debuted, and it currently sits at a 92% Tomatometer rating.

The series also broke a major record for Disney, receiving 13.3 million views across Disney+ and the Disney-owned sister streamer Hulu.

"You know, we're getting reactions like we've had tonight, amazing reactions everywhere... so, if I was the Oracle, I would say the Auguries are good."
