Driver's carelessness leaves motorcyclist covered in blood

WARNING – GRAPHIC CONTENT: A man with horrific facial injuries is believed to have been hit by a flying Esky lid while riding his motorbike.

Motorcycle Clubs Australia shared to Facebook photos showing the man’s injuries and blood splattered over his bike, accompanied by a request to other motorists.

“Always ensure your s**t is strapped down on your ute or trailer,” it wrote.

“Esky lid coming at you whilst riding doesn't tickle.”

It is not known what the extent of his injuries are and where the incident happened.

The post was shared more than 420 times at the time of publication with people shocked by his injuries.

“People just don't think,” one man wrote.

“Had one person empty an ashtray out once while riding. It didn't hurt but wasn't nice.”

Others simply wrote “ouch”.

It’s not known what type of helmet the injured motorcyclist was wearing, but some suggested if he was wearing an open-face helmet he might want to re-think his choice.

“This is one of the reasons I wear a full face, you can't trust people to secure their stuff,” one man wrote.
