People horrified by bizarre Nazi wedding photo shoot

Many people have been left horrified by a Nazi wedding photo shoot, which recently resurfaced in a Facebook weddings discussion group.

An article dating back to 2011 from an Asian blog, ChinaSmack, was posted in the group showcasing a woman posing in a wedding dress and a man posing in a Nazi uniform for a photo shoot.

Some took to the post to express their shock at the snaps.

“This is totally unacceptable by any culture. No excuse,” one commenter wrote.

“This is revolting and truly deserving of the word shame,” another said. “They she be utterly ASHAMED of themselves.”

Another noted they had family members that “ended up in, during WW2, in concentration camps” and labelled the pictures “disgusting”.

However, this photo shoot may not be an actual Nazi-themed wedding, but a pair of teenagers in dress-up.

According to Vice, the fashion trend ‘Nazi Chic’ has been on the uprise in Asia since the 1980s.

“[In Asia], the use of Nazi chic has appeared with greater frequency since at least the late 1980s,” Laura Kidd, an expert in the use of Nazi symbols in fashion, and a professor from Southern Illinois University Carbondale, told the publication in 2016.

“Two popular styles of Asian Nazi chic are swastikawaii, or ‘cute swastika,’ which uses the swastika as the main design motif, and the other is referred to as ‘führer chic,’ which uses soft, cuddly, and cute caricatures of the image of Adolf Hitler.”
