Paulina Porizkova Issues Desperate Plea for Help Amid Unprecedented Palisades Fire

Paulina Porizkova is issuing a desperate plea for help amid the devastating Palisades Fire in California.

"Can you please watch the video that follows this?" the former supermodel began in a video posted via Instagram on Wednesday, Jan. 8. "Because it's about cats that a friend of mine is trying to rescue and she needs help, so if you can please stay on and watch the video that follows this—thanks."

"Okay here is our current situation. I have 15 cat carriers from Sante D'or filled with 17 cats from Santa D'or in my garage. We got all the cats out. They are safe," Cummings said. "Unfortunately, just as I got home, we got evacuation orders, so this is what I am asking for, and I don't ask for stuff online. But if you are in the Los Angeles area and you have a warehouse or something that is outside of the foothills—because that's the problem, a lot of us who volunteer with Santa D'or, we live in the foothill area."

She added, "Nothing is safe right now, but the foothills are particularly not safe. If you have a warehouse that is empty and can be set up for some cages for maybe a few days, let me know and I'll put you in touch with them. Thank you."

Followers were quick to thank Porizkova for spreading the word about the animal rescue in need, with one social media user writing, "Thank you for posting. @santedorrescue is amazing. My kitty is from there ❤️ I hope they get the help they need!"

Another was ready to spring into action, saying, "Thank you for this. I live in west Los Angeles. I’m here to help!!!"

Tens of thousands of people were ordered to evacuate Los Angeles amid the unprecedented wildfires scorching the areas, with many on high alert with evacuation warnings also set in place.

As of publication, multiple major wildfires are burning in Los Angeles County: the Palisades Fire, which has burned over 5,000 acres, including down to Pacific Coast Highway where it engulfed multi-million dollar homes; the Hurst Fire, which caused multiple freeway closures and the Eaton Canyon Fire, which surpassed 10,600 acres Wednesday morning and is 0% contained.

Two people are dead and over 1,000 homes, businesses and other structures have been destroyed, according to the Los Angeles Times.
