Passengers abandon Norwegian Star

As many as 350 passengers who spent days stranded off Melbourne on luxury cruise liner Norwegian Star have not reboarded the ship.

Its propulsion system was repaired and cleared for sailing on Tuesday, but almost one in five of the ship's 2000 or so passengers chose to get off in Melbourne.

Passengers were offered a full refund and up to $350 for flights for people who wished to leave immediately rather than continue to Auckland.
