Passenger killed in single-vehicle crash near Cornwall

Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) say one man was killed and another person injured in a single-vehicle crash on Glen Road just east of Cornwall on Friday evening.

In a news release, OPP said they were called to the scene around 5 p.m.

A 31-year-old man from North Glengarry who was the passenger was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. The 36-year-old driver from Clarence-Rockland was airlifted to hospital and is expected to survive.

Police did not identify the victim and did not mention any charges. They posted on social media early Saturday morning that Glen Road had reopened between Huron Street and County Road 27.

The crash happened just east of Cornwall and about 90 kilometres southeast of downtown Ottawa.
