A parachutist has been killed following a horror incident at a remote property west of Brisbane.

Emergency services were called to a property in Tarawera, about 400km west of Brisbane, about 8am on Tuesday.

A Queensland Police spokesperson said a man had been declared dead at the scene.

The spokesperson said the state’s Forensic Crash Unit had been dispatched to the property on Meandarra Talwood Rd.

Paramedics earlier said they were assessing “a patient for life-threatening injuries following a parachuting incident”.

Two ambulance crews, including a rescue helicopter, and the Forensic Crash Unit were also called.
