Prince George's fifth birthday portrait is his best yet

To celebrate Prince George’s fifth birthday, Kensington Palace have just released an adorable new portrait of the young royal.

In the latest snap George can be seen grinning widely and looking straight into the camera.

“The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are very pleased to share a new photograph of Prince George to mark his fifth birthday,” the caption from the Palace reads.

His proud parents then thanked “everyone for your lovely messages”.

Naturally, the cute as a button photo has sent Twitter into a meltdown as fans lose it over George’s cheeky grin.

George is the eldest son of Prince William and wife Kate Middleton, followed by Charlotte three, and three-month-old Louis.

The prince, who is known to be shyer than his younger sister, is sporting one of his biggest smiles yet in the photo, which was taken by photographer Matt Porteous in the garden of Clarence House after the christening of Louis, on July 9.

William and Kate have released one or more photos of George every year since his birth – and Mr Porteous has taken a number of these, too.
