A driver and his passenger have been charged after allegedly speeding off with a police officer inside the car before hitting another cop in central Victoria.
The 36-year-old man and his passenger, a 24-year-old woman, refused to cooperate with officers after being pulled over for erratic driving in the Bendigo suburb of Kangaroo Flat on Friday night, police said.
The driver was tasered but tried to speed off with the male senior constable still inside the car before it hit a female officer on the Calder Freeway.
The man has been charged with a string of offences including assaulting a police officer, driving while suspended and committing an indictable offence while on bail.
He is behind bars and will face court in Bendigo on Monday.
The female passenger was charged with four offences including assaulting a police officer and was bailed to appear in court in October.
Both officers went to hospital with minor injuries after the arrests but have since been discharged.
