P-plate driver's shocking decision on busy motorway

A P-plater has been caught on camera trying to perform a U-turn into three lanes of oncoming traffic on a busy motorway.

The footage shows the white Mazda hatchback suddenly stopping in the middle of the busy six-lane motorway in Mount Ousley, near Wollongong on Friday.

The vehicle stops in the far right lane of the road, on a marked island after a barrier and indicates right, while three lanes of cars speed by in the opposite direction.

The driver then makes a U-turn, seconds before oncoming traffic hurtles down the road.

Social media users have slammed the driver.

“That is so dangerous,” one Facebook user said.

“Someone needs to go back and resit their driving test,” another said.

“That’s so infuriating just watching it!” one Facebook user wrote.

However, some are defending the P-plater.

“What’s the issue here? Don’t see any signs saying NO U TURN,” one Facebook user said.

“At least they indicated,” another said.

The video has received over 1,000 comments on Facebook.

NSW Police have told Yahoo7 that they are looking into the incident.
