Oz Lotto: Two people win $15 million EACH just before Christmas

·2-min read

Two lucky players have officially become Australia’s newest multi-millionaires after each scoring $15 million in Tuesday’s Oz Lotto draw, just in time for Christmas.

The winning pair held the only division one winning entries in Oz Lotto draw 1451, drawn on Tuesday.

Both players will receive their $15 million prizes on December 22, which means they will both enjoy a very merry Christmas this year.

One of the winners, a young Canberra man, received a life-changing call from lottery officials confirming his windfall on Wednesday morning.

“This is too much money to comprehend,” he said after the news broke.

‘This is the greatest phone call of my life!’

The ACT man explained that his winning numbers consisted of a couple of birthdays and then a random selection of numbers.

“This is the greatest phone call of my life!”

Despite becoming an overnight multi-millionaire, the shocked man admitted he still turned up to work on Wednesday and mulled over how to spend his winnings.

He explained that after a difficult two years being stuck in the same place, doing the same things, he now had more options for the future.

“I’m at that point where I’m thinking I’ll be working for the next 30 or more years, but now that’s probably not going to happen. There will be more time off work, longer holidays and paying off the mortgage.

“This Christmas should be fun!”

A St Albans Oz Lotto player also received their Christmas wish when they took home the other $15 million prize in last night’s Oz Lotto draw.

Unlike their Canberra counterpart, the NSW winner has chosen to remain completely anonymous and celebrate their multi-millionaire status in private.

The Lott spokesperson Ally Ramsamy said that although we may never know how they plan to enjoy their prize, she has no doubt the winner is ecstatic after discovering their win.

“Other winners tell us they use their windfall to help their families, buy a new house, upgrade their home with renovations or splurge a new car," she said.

“However our winner chooses to use their prize, we hope they enjoy the winning feeling as long as they can.”

The winning numbers in Tuesday's Oz Lotto draw 1451 were 28, 12, 17, 40, 36, 22 and 23, while the supplementary numbers were 24 and 45.
