Overnight closures on A63 as roadworks continue
Motorists in Hull have been warned of further overnight road closures as work on a new phase of the A63 Castle Street project moves ahead.
With progress made on the new underpass at Mytongate Junction in recent months, the next phases of work will require closures for up to eight weeks.
The A63 will be closed from Daltry Street to Roger Millward Way in both directions.
The work will be carried out overnight, starting on 18 November, pausing on 19 December and restarting on 6 January.
This next phase comes after work to rebuild the slip roads at both sides of the junction at Queen Street and Market Place was completed and a central island was created.
The new underpass structure is now fully dug out and the next step is for a concrete slab to be laid to form the base of the underpass.
The work will also include the installation of new barriers and work on the road surfaces.
National Highways project manager Michael Upshon said: "We would strongly advise people travelling in the area during overnight closures to plan ahead, allowing extra time for their journeys."
