Our Best Travel Picture winner

The winner: two traders on the Nile, near Aswan in Egypt, by Glenys Ball, of Wagin.

Since we launched our Railbookers Best Travel Picture competition in April, we've received hundreds of entries and chosen 31 finalists which depict destinations from Peru to the Philippines, Kakadu National Park to Kyoto, and Brighton to Budapest.

And as part of the judging process, on Monday the Travel team narrowed the field down to six of the best entries. From these, we chose our winner: Glenys Ball, of Wagin, for her photograph of two traders on the Nile, near Aswan in Egypt.

Glenys wins a $5000 voucher to use on one of Railbookers' tailor-made holiday packages, which include hand-picked hotels, rail travel with seat reservations, car hire, sightseeing tours and more. She'll be able to choose from destinations throughout Europe and the rest of the world - a journey from London to the Strait of Gibraltar and Morocco, or perhaps the capitals of Western Europe, or a luxurious trip through India aboard the Maharajas' Express.

To see the five highly commended entries, don't miss Travel this Saturday. In the meantime, see all the finalists in our gallery HERE.

Our Best Travel Picture competition will recommence after the summer holidays. Details of the prize and how to enter will be published in Travel early next year.
