The secret perk behind ordering McDonald's fries without salt

A McDonald’s employee has explained why you should always order fries without salt.

The employee, who worked at a McDonald’s in Essex, in England’s Southeast, told The Sun it was always best to ask for no salt on your chips.

He said this was because staff then “[had] to make a fresh batch of fries”.

“We also have to clean out the tray that the fries are stored in to make sure no salt gets on them,” he said.

The fast food worker advised going after peak times when the restaurant was busiest to ensure you get the freshest food after 10am, 12pm and 7pm.

Yahoo7 has contacted McDonald’s for comment.

In November, a study of McDonald’s touchscreens in the UK by The Metro newspaper found bacteria including faecal germs covering the screens used to order food.

Diners use the touchscreens to choose their food then head to the counter to collect their meals.

London Metropolitan University’s Dr Paul Matawele said he was “surprised” by the results and added the faecal and gut bacteria cause “the kind of infections that people pick up in hospitals”.

In October, a woman took to Facebook telling McDonald’s staff to stop feeding her dog Big Macs after finding out her cheeky pooch had been sneaking out at night and posing as a stray.

Oklahoma City woman Betsy Reyes accused her dog, Princess, of pretending to be a stray, so fast food customers would throw her free burgers.

Ms Reyes even caught and posted a video of a well-meaning stranger throwing the animal food from her window.
