OPP investigating after four rainbow crosswalks vandalized in Petrolia

Provincial police in Lambton County are investigating after four rainbow crosswalks in the city were heavily defaced last weekend.

According to OPP, officers responded on Sunday morning to reports that four rainbow-coloured crosswalks in the Town of Petrolia had been vandalized.

Photos shared by police show the colours of the crosswalks entirely covered with white paint.

The crosswalks were located at Greenfield, Blanche and Maple Streets and Dufferin Avenue in Petrolia.

Lambton OPP are continuing to investigate and are asking the public for assistance.

Businesses and residents in the areas of the crosswalks mentioned are asked to check their dash or surveillance camera recordings from Sunday, Sept. 22, between 2 a.m. and 4 a.m.
