One person is dead after a three-vehicle collision near Napanee, Ont., according to provincial police.

OPP said they were called to Highway 401 near Palace Road just after 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday for a collision involving a transport truck and two other vehicles.

An occupant of one of the vehicles was pronounced dead at the scene, OPP said, while three others were taken to the hospital.

Their injuries were not life-threatening, OPP said.

The highway's eastbound lanes were closed after the crash. Police said Wednesday afternoon that an emergency detour route is in place.
